The bonsai cypress tree is also known as "Chamaecyparis". Natively from Japan it's a fast growing tree which makes it great for beginners to start their bonsai career's off on. It is evergreen which means it doesn't lose its leaves so it's good to look at all year round and because of this it's a nice tree to have in your garden during the winter months so it doesn't look so bare. It's also thought of as a classic bonsai tree and you'll frequently see it in oriental works of art.
